Are you looking for a new challenge or career step? Due to upcoming maternity leave, an opportunity has arisen to join the Surgical Dietetic Team at York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, as a Band 6 Dietitian specialising in oncology, primarily head and neck cancer and upper gastrointestinal (GI) cancer. This post is based at York Hospital and will involve working across both York and Scarborough hospitals.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and proactive Dietitian, with experience of working within UK health care systems, to support our oncology dietetic services. The oncology Dietitians deliver a comprehensive service within specialist multi-disciplinary teams to patients in clinical specialities, including:
- Patients on a head and neck cancer pathway
- Patients on an upper-gastrointestinal cancer pathway
- Critical care
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate relevant skills and experience in oral, enteral and parenteral nutritional support. Training will be provided as required to support the assessment and treatment of patients on particular cancer pathways.
The department places a strong emphasis on clinical supervision, training and education, including:
- Peer support and supervision
- Well established programme facilitating the training of dietetic students
- Delivery of a variety of rolling training programmes for other healthcare professionals across the Trust, relating to nutritional care
- Opportunities to participate in audit and research
