Services are currently seeking to recruit a Training Area Operative to join our dedicated team.
In this role you will play a key part in helping to maintain a safe, efficient and sustainable place for our Armed Forces to train.
We are looking for someone enthusiastic about working in an outdoor environment, dedicated to supporting the Military.

Hours: 08:00 - 16:30 Monday to Friday Core Hours. 06:00 - 23:30 (Extended Bandwidth Hours) - Rotas to be discussed at Interview.

What You'll Do
- To ensure that the Defence Training Estateis kept in top condition
- Carry out preventative, planned and reactive maintenance tasks
- Grounds and Landscape Maintenance
- Operation and maintenance of plant and equipment (training provided)
- Manufacturing and deploying targets
- Equipment testing calibrating
- Driving and operating fleet vehicles
- Waste and Vegetation management
- Use of Warning systems including training control offices, flags and lights
- Ensure that the facilities adhere to strict safety protocols
- Complete all necessary documentation using both IT and paper-based systems
What We're Looking For
- Knowledge of Landscape Maintenance and Grounds Maintenance
- Basic IT skills with ability to use a tablet
- Ability to work effectively in a diverse, fast-paced team environment
- Good knowledge of Health & Safety and COSHH protocols and risk assessments
- Flexibility to cover additional sites
- A valid Manual UK driving licence is essential to carry out the duties of this role
- Knowledge of working in a rural environment
- Knowledge of range assignment instructions and range standing orders
- Experience of track ad fencing maintenance
- Experience as a range / training area user
