We are looking for a caring, calm and friendly Personal Assistant to provide support to an adult with an acquired brain injury. This role is centred around companionship, promoting independence where possible, and assisting with daily living tasks in a safe and respectful manner.
The person enjoys watching television, completing crosswords, playing games on an iPad, and spending time chatting. They previously enjoyed cricket and football but now prefer quieter activities. They use a zimmer frame for mobility, tire easily, and require supervision due to an increased risk of falls and memory difficulties.
Contract Type: Part Time Permanent
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Provide companionship and conversation throughout the shift.
- Support with dressing on Tuesday and Friday mornings.
- Assist with showering on Wednesday and Friday.
- Provide support with toileting and prompt with personal hygiene, including toothbrushing.
- Prepare Level 5 texture-modified meals for breakfast and lunch on Tuesday and Friday.
- Prepare drinks and ensure regular hydration.
- Support with eating when required.
- Administer prescribed eye drops as directed.
- Accompany on outings, shopping trips or appointments where appropriate.
- Provide supervision at all times to ensure safety due to falls risk.
- Assist with mobility using a zimmer frame.
- Support with basic household tasks related to care.
Hourly Rate: £13.45
How will the hours be used:
- Tuesday: 8:00am – 4:00pm
- Wednesday: 10:30am – 1:30pm
- Thursday: 10:30am – 1:30pm
- Friday: 8:00am – 4:00pm
