We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Female Personal Assistant to support a 16-year-old young woman living at home with her family in Salford. She has a diagnosis of Chromosome 7q11 deletion, epilepsy, and a visual impairment, which affect multiple areas of her development, communication, and daily living. She is a wheelchair user and attends a SEN high school where she receives 1:1 support. She is non-verbal but engages positively through sensory play. She particularly enjoys music, vibrations, and interactive sensory activities.
Contract Type: Part Time Permanent
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Supporting with moving and handling and mobility
- Assisting with personal care, including bathing and dressing
- Preparing meals and supporting with feeding
- Supporting with social and sensory activities
- Administering medication
- Attending and supporting with health appointments
- Working closely in partnership with parents to ensure consistent care
Hourly Rate: £12.71
The young person may display behaviours of distress, including self-harm (e.g. head banging) and throwing objects when frustrated. The successful candidate will need to respond calmly, safely, and supportively in these situations.
