Salford Royal Gastro-Intestinal Physiology Department based at The Willows Centre for Health in the community are looking to employ an individual who is either fully qualified in GI Physiology with appropriate registrations, or has an appropriate science degree (nursing is accepted) which would facilitate the Accredited Scientist Pathway training programme (BSc minimum qualification). The successful applicant will be competent (or to be trained) in lower GI Physiology.

In GI Physiology we are looking to employ a GI Clinical Physiologist in this busy physiology department. Currently we have 4 full time physiologists so being a team player and a motivated individual is essential. We receive referrals from all over the North West as well as from our own trust. We are looking for either a trainee (annex 21) Clinical Physiologist or a qualified Clinical Physiologist in GI Physiology. Experience in Colorectal or Gastroenterology is essential.

You will be able to undertake anorectal physiology investigations and lower GI biofeedback in the first instance. You will have the ability to analyse and report your findings with a technical and clinical report. If training is required this will be via the Accredited Scientist Pathway (ASP) training programme in conjunction with the National School of Healthcare Science and Newcastle University. The training will include work based training, an online portfolio, academic modules with Newcastle University and an end point assessment.

We also undertake a range of other investigations and treatments, such as TAI and capsule enteroscopy. Although these are not essential to the role in the first instance there is scope to expand your knowledge and skills. Ideally you will be an AGIP accredited practitioner and / or AHCS registered though this is not essential as these can be worked towards.
