Personal Care Assistant (PA) Required for Luca – Rutherglen

We are looking for a reliable and supportive Personal Assistant to support Luca, a shy, well-mannered young man with a great sense of humour, based in Rutherglen. Luca is happiest when gaming on his PC or PlayStation and enjoys learning about Japan, dinosaurs, Pokémon, and spending time with his pet bearded dragon. He also enjoys trips to the cinema, swimming, watching animated TV programmes, and going out for food and drink.

The Role

The PA will support Luca to and from college, ensuring he feels safe, comfortable, and supported during transitions. Days will be a combination of 2 set days per week of either Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday (employer flexible with preferred days).

  • Morning: 8:45am – 9:45am (drop-off)
  • Afternoon: 3:15pm – 4:15pm (pick-up)

Rate of pay: £14.45 per hour

Requirements

  • A driving licence with access to your own vehicle is essential to support Luca to college (mileage rate paid by employer)
  • Sensitive, patient, and responsive to Luca’s individual needs
  • Good at reading body language and non-verbal cues
  • Calm and reassuring approach

Experience

  • An awareness of de-escalation techniques is desirable
  • Previous experience supporting individuals with autism is preferred but not essential, as full guidance will be provided

This role would suit someone who is kind, understanding, and able to build a positive, trusting relationship while supporting Luca’s independence.

This is a permanent role with a private employer, and sponsorship is not available.
