An Assistant Site Manager is required for a residential development in the Rushden area of Northamptonshire.

This position would suit an experienced Assistant Site Manager who is ready to take greater responsibility and progress into a Site Manager role.

Working for an established medium-sized residential contractor, you will support the successful delivery of new-build housing projects while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.

The company is looking for someone dependable with a stable employment history and at least two to three years' experience in residential construction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Site Manager with the day-to-day management of residential construction projects.
  • Coordinate subcontractors and trades to maintain programme deadlines.
  • Monitor workmanship and ensure completed work meets the required quality standards.
  • Conduct site inspections and identify defects or potential delays.
  • Maintain high standards of health and safety across the development.
  • Assist with short-term programme planning and resource coordination.
  • Manage site records including inspections and progress reports.
  • Communicate effectively with subcontractors, suppliers and internal teams.
  • Support customer care activities and the timely resolution of defects.
  • Take increasing responsibility for sections of the development as your experience grows.

  • Demonstrate at least two to three years' experience as an Assistant Site Manager.
  • Possess experience working for a residential housebuilder or residential contractor.
  • Show a stable and consistent employment history.
  • Understand new-build residential construction methods and site processes.
  • Hold a valid SMSTS or SSSTS qualification.
  • Hold a valid CSCS card.
  • Possess a current First Aid at Work qualification.
  • Demonstrate strong organisational and communication skills.
  • Manage subcontractors confidently and professionally.
  • Show the ambition and capability to progress into a Site Manager position.
  • Hold a full UK driving licence.
