Job Overview
We are looking for a dedicated Support Worker to provide daily assistance to a young boy with intense sensory needs, repetitive behaviours and personal care requirements.
Responsibilities
- Support and prompt personal care activities such as toileting, showering, dressing and bed‑management.
- Encourage and facilitate socialisation and participation in group or individual activities.
- Build a trusting one‑to‑one relationship and adapt support to the boy’s daily needs.
- Report accidents, hazards and any safety concerns to the employer immediately.
- Assist with daily routines, improving self‑care and self‑propulsion skills where appropriate.
- Perform any other duties reasonably required to support the individual’s well‑being.
Qualifications & Experience
- Experience working with individuals who have Special Educational Needs (SEN).
- Patience, kindness and an open‑mind approach to managing challenging behaviours.
- Confidence in supporting outdoor activities such as walks, park visits and woodland walks.
- Ability to remain calm in flight or high‑stimulus situations.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Full DBS check (costs covered).
