Job Introduction:

As a Reception Team Leader with Sodexo at Newbold Revel, Rugby, CV23 0TH, you’ll lead from the front to ensure the reception service provides a welcoming, professional and efficient experience for everyone arriving on site.

Newbold Revel is a busy residential training centre, welcoming colleagues attending courses from across the Prison Service. Similar to a hotel or conference centre, the site provides training, accommodation and other facilities for those staying and learning on site.

You’ll take a hands‑on role in the daily running of reception while leading and supporting the team to deliver consistently high standards. From welcoming clients, visitors, contractors and colleagues to overseeing room bookings, arrivals, departures and accommodation check‑ins, you’ll help keep the service organised and running smoothly. You’ll also coordinate workloads, support team training and development, maintain accurate records and ensure site procedures are followed.

If you have experience leading a reception, front‑of‑house or customer service team, excellent communication skills and confidence using Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and booking systems, this is a great opportunity to join a supportive team in a busy and varied environment.

What you’ll do:

  • Oversee the day‑to‑day running of the reception area, ensuring the team delivers a professional and welcoming service.
  • Lead by example, supporting the reception team to maintain consistently high standards.
  • Welcome visitors, contractors and colleagues to site and ensure they receive a positive first impression.
  • Manage visitor sign‑in and sign‑out processes, passes and associated records.
  • Maintain the site booking system, including meeting rooms and attendee information.
  • Answer incoming calls and respond to emails in a professional and timely manner.
  • Complete and oversee general reception and administrative tasks.
  • Ensure reception team training is completed and accurately recorded.
  • Support the learning, development and engagement of the reception team.
  • Ensure relevant safety and security procedures are followed and support site fire safety processes.
  • Work closely with colleagues, contractors and client teams to ensure a smooth and efficient service.
  • Take responsibility for the reception and back‑office service when the line manager is absent.

What You Bring:

  • Previous experience working in a reception, front‑of‑house or similar customer‑facing environment.
  • Previous experience supervising, leading or supporting a team.
  • Confidence coaching, training and supporting colleagues.
  • Strong administrative and organisational skills.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Experience using booking or similar IT systems would be beneficial.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • A friendly, calm and professional approach when dealing with a wide range of people.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate records.
  • The confidence to use your own initiative and take responsibility for the smooth running of the service.
  • A professional approach to handling sensitive and confidential information.
