We are looking for an enthusiastic, driven, and empathetic Assistant Psychologist to join our dynamic Psychological Services team within the Community & Recovery service line. In this role, you won’t just be sitting on the sidelines. You will be at the heart of our Clinical Care Pathways, delivering vital, manualised, and psychologically informed structured interventions directly to adults facing mental health difficulties in the community. As an Assistant Psychologist, your role is beautifully varied, balancing direct clinical care with service development:

  • Deliver 'Initial Interventions: You will be on the frontline, providing targeted, manualized psychological interventions to individuals newly accessing our Community Mental Health Teams (CMHT).
  • Structured Therapeutic Support: Using your independent initiative—backed by clear guidelines from a qualified psychologist—you will deliver structured therapeutic interventions across identified services.
  • Research & Innovation: You will help us grow and improve by undertaking clinically relevant administration, service audits, research projects, and service improvement initiatives.

To deliver Initial Interventions to patients within the West Kent CMHT, and participate in training for ii, and in regular clinical supervision for Initial interventions receiving professional support appropriate to the assistant psychologist for ii grade. To be responsible for the relevant data collection on work activities, as required, and to maintain a high standard of clinical record keeping. To participate fully in supporting the activities of the Psychological Therapies Services within the Trust, including attending relevant meetings. To keep abreast of developments in the area relevant to the field of Adult Mental Health. To carry out such other duties as the Head of Speciality may reasonably request.
