You will be joining a long-established Mechanical & Electrical Building Services Consultancy that delivers high-quality technical design and advisory services across a wide range of sectors. Their portfolio includes commercial, industrial, education, healthcare, leisure, hotel and residential projects, spanning both new-build and refurbishment schemes. The consultancy is recognised for its collaborative, hands-on engineering culture and commitment to delivering innovative, efficient, and tailored building services solutions across the UK. With a strong and growing project pipeline, they are now looking to appoint an Associate-level Electrical Engineer to play a key leadership role within the business.

Your new role

As an Associate Electrical Engineer, you will take strategic and technical ownership of electrical design delivery across multiple projects, while supporting the wider growth and development of the business. You will act as a senior leader within the engineering team, responsible for project oversight, client relationships, and mentoring engineers at all levels.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading electrical building services design across multiple projects from concept to completion
  • Overseeing and reviewing designs, calculations, specifications, and reports to ensure quality and compliance
  • Managing project delivery, including programme, resources, and financial performance
  • Acting as a primary point of contact for clients, attending and leading meetings and presentations
  • Supporting business development activities, including maintaining client relationships and identifying new opportunities
  • Mentoring and developing junior and senior engineers, contributing to team growth and capability
  • Coordinating with internal teams, external consultants, and stakeholders to ensure seamless project delivery
  • Ensuring all work complies with UK Building Regulations, BS 7671, and industry best practice

You will work across a diverse range of sectors including commercial offices, industrial, education, healthcare, residential, hotels and leisure, as well as MOD and secure infrastructure projects.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Degree or HND in Electrical Engineering or Building Services Engineering
  • Extensive experience delivering electrical building services designs within a consultancy environment
  • Proven experience leading projects and managing multidisciplinary design teams
  • Strong technical knowledge of electrical systems, UK Building Regulations, and IET Wiring Regulations (BS 7671)
  • Experience in client management and contributing to business development
  • Ability to lead, mentor, and develop engineering teams
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills
