Clinical Management: To take charge of the ward on a regular basis and have delegated trust in the absence of the Ward Manager to manage the allocated resources to maintain their effectiveness and efficiency, taking appropriate action to meet set standards and targets. Responsible for the supervision and deployment of staff and will be required to develop/teach nursing and non-nursing staff. Clinical Practice: To participate fully as a member of a multi-disciplinary team including assessment of care needs, the development/implementation of evaluation of programmes of care and the setting of standards. As a prime care provider, initiate, implement and evaluate operational policies and clinical practice against agreed criteria. Health Promotion: Assisting patients in maintaining their physical well-being, co-existing within Health of the Nation targets. Quality: To take personal responsibility for providing a high quality service, for areas within their areas of practice. Risk: To undertake personal responsibility for ensuring risk assessments are carried out and implemented within patients care programmes. Please note applicants will be required to pay for their DBS check. Costs are deducted from salary following appointment. The cost of the DBS application is £26.40 (standard) or £54.40 (enhanced), this cost will be deducted from your salary over the first 2 months of employment. You are encouraged to enrol for the DBS Update Service. An annual fee of £16 per year applies.
