About the Role

Are you an organised, adaptable professional with a passion for delivering life-changing experiences for young people? RNN Group is seeking an Overseas Placement Lead, to serve as the operational hub and primary on-site group leader for our international social action and work placement opportunities.

On-Site Overseas Facilitation

  • Travel on international trips as the College's Lead Facilitator, taking responsibility for group welfare, daily schedules, local logistics, and incident management.

Programme Coordination & Logistics

  • Oversee day-to-day placement operations, including international travel, accommodation, transport, site visits, and trip budgets.

Compliance, Risk & Safeguarding

  • Lead pre-departure risk assessments and enforce strict health, safety, and safeguarding standards before and during visits.

Stakeholder & Student Engagement

  • Manage student recruitment, lead pre-departure briefings, track documentation (passports, visas, insurance), and liaise with parents, college management, and third-party overseas providers.

Reporting & Evaluation

  • Gather feedback, track completion metrics, and compile post-visit reports for the Senior Leadership Team (SLT).

This hands-on role spans the entire journey; leading pre-departure preparation, traveling abroad as the main facilitator, managing on-the-ground welfare and logistics, and running post-visit evaluations. As our lead facilitator overseas, you will handle daily schedules, foster positive group dynamics, and serve as the main point of contact for emergency and incident management.

What we are looking for

Essential Criteria

  • Facilitating/leading group trips, educational visits, or overseas placements.
  • Managing trip logistics, compliance records, and travel documentation.
  • Handling emergency responses, risk assessments, or student pastoral care.

Qualifications

  • Level 2 Literacy and Numeracy (GCSE C/4 or above).
  • First Aid at Work qualification (or willingness to undertake).

Skills & Attributes

  • Strong leadership, conflict-resolution, and calm problem-solving skills under pressure.
  • Proficient with digital tools (MS Office, Google Workspace, tracking tools).
  • Willingness and ability to travel internationally for periods of over 15 days at a time (valid passport required).

Desirable Criteria

  • Relevant Level 3+ qualification in Business Administration, Project, or Events Management.
  • Experience working within Further Education (FE) or Higher Education (HE).
  • Experience working directly with third-party international travel providers.
  • Valid Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) and Youth Mental Health First Aid certification.

Your role in the Department

Directly managed by the Head of Student Support and Personal Development, you will operate as a key member of the Student Support Team. In this role, you will work in close collaboration with the Director of Safeguarding and Student Support, Additional Learning Support (ALS), and the Curriculum and Quality teams. You serve as the central operational bridge within the department, connecting internal student welfare services, college leadership, curriculum areas, and external international partners to ensure every overseas visit is fully supported, safe, and aligned with college standards.
