Rotational Occupational Therapist | University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust

We are looking for a dynamic and motivated occupational therapist with excellent communication skills and an innovative and flexible approach. You must be a team player with a broad range of student experience. This role has 6-month rotations across a range of specialities including:

• Surgery
• Orthopaedics
• Oncology and Haematology
• General Medicine
• Rehabilitation
• Neurology

The rotations are across several sites including University College Hospital and the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery. In some rotations staff will be expected to participate in 7-day services or weekend working.

We have a strong commitment to staff development and service improvement providing regular supervision and in-service training. Please only apply if you have a degree result and have your HCPC registration or it is pending.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide high quality Occupational Therapy input including assessment, treatment and advice to patients in a variety of settings.
• Demonstrate strong communication skills with a range of stakeholders including patient’s family members and MDT.
• Provide patient centred care to ensure a holistic and individualised treatment/intervention is delivered.
• Perform safe manual handling tasks, fitting and delivery of ADL equipment, and basic IT skills.
• Participate in evidence-based audits and service development projects in conjunction with the Senior Therapists (OT/PT) to ensure high standards of care & service development are maintained and improved.
• Demonstrate time management and prioritisation skills to effectively manage own caseload.
• Responsible for accurate and timely documentation in line with RCOT and trust guidelines.
• Compliance with the Trust’s Equal Opportunities Policy.

• Be an integral member of a team assuming delegated responsibilities for supervision of students and assistant members of staff as required.
