Barking Havering and Redbridge University Trust is one of the largest acute trusts serving a large and diverse population. An exciting opportunity has arisen for dynamic band 6 pharmacists to join our friendly team on our rotational development programme. You will be part of a team of pharmacists providing a range of pharmaceutical services in the busy acute hospitals within the Trust.

You will rotate through placements across both sites, which will include:
- Patient Services
- Clinical Pharmacy Services
- Medicines Information
- Technical Services (Production)
The pharmacy department is an integral part of the clinical team and overall Trust strategy. Our major sites, King George Hospital in Ilford and Queen’s Hospital in Romford, are in excellent locations less than 30 minutes from Central London.
The post holder will be responsible for assisting the pharmacy department in providing a comprehensive, patient orientated clinical pharmacy service at ward and department level throughout Barking, Havering and Redbridge University Hospitals NHS Trust. He/she will work closely with senior colleagues and clinical technicians to ensure the provision of an integrated and efficient service.
It is expected that the post holder will successfully complete a department approved postgraduate qualification in General Pharmacy Practice equivalent to Certificate Level (60 CATS points). Although the post holder will be based within the pharmacy department, he/she will spend a significant portion of their time working in a variety of areas; in accordance with the requirements of the service and the PG Certificate. This work will be under the direction of the pharmacist in charge of the section and where appropriate the postholder will deputise for them in their absence. Personal performance will be assessed through performance review.

We run a Women’s Health Hub in Ilford; an Ageing Well Centre in Hornchurch; and Community Diagnostic Centres (CDC) at Barking Community Hospital and at St George’s Health and Wellbeing Hub. These CDCs are open 12 hours a day, 7 days a week.
