An exciting opportunity has arisen to work within the RTT Data Validation Team as a full-time RTT Data Validator. The main responsibilities of the role are to investigate and validate clinical pathways, assisting operational teams to ensure patient waiting times are reported accurately, as well as supporting the Trust in maintaining performance and improvement of patient care.
The post holder will update the tracking portal showing the patient pathway journey from the start of the RTT clock to treatment date/discharge. Identifying and resolving any data discrepancies or errors found within pathways. RTT Data Validators are responsible for the proactive management, monitoring and validation of clinical pathways; as such the ideal candidate for this role will be organised, fully competent in the use of Cerner and have proven experience of using RTT 18-week pathway rules whilst working in a similar role in a hospital/health care setting.
They should also be a good communicator, be able to work confidently on their own or as part of a team and be able to meet tight work deadlines. The ideal candidate will be highly organised, detail-oriented, and able to work to tight deadlines. They should have proven experience working with RTT pathways within a hospital or healthcare environment and be fully competent in the use of Cerner and RTT 18-week pathway rules. Excellent communication skills are essential, together with the ability to work confidently both independently and as part of a team.
The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong understanding of data accuracy, pathway validation, and the importance of maintaining high-quality RTT information to support patient care and Trust performance. This role provides an opportunity to make a direct contribution to accurate patient pathway management, RTT performance, and the continuous improvement of patient services.
- Investigating and validating RTT clinical pathways.
- Identifying and correcting data discrepancies and inaccuracies.
- Ensuring the RTT pathway accurately reflects the patient's journey.
- Applying the 18-week RTT pathway rules appropriately.
- Identifying potential breaches of RTT waiting-time standards.
- Escalating potential breaches to Team Leaders for review before information is submitted to the relevant Divisions.
- Maintaining accurate and timely validation records within Luna.
- Working closely with operational and clinical teams to resolve pathway queries.
- Proactively monitoring and managing RTT pathways to support accurate reporting.
