Full Time - Monday to Friday - rotating shifts 6am to 2pm week 1, 2pm - 10pm week 2

The Role

We are seeking an experienced CNC Setter/Operator to join a busy manufacturing environment in Rochester, Kent.

The successful candidate will be responsible for setting and operating CNC machinery to produce precision-engineered components to exact specifications and strict quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set and operate CNC lathes and machining centres to meet production targets.
  • Carry out machine changeovers and production runs in line with works orders and drawings.
  • Modify existing CNC programmes and create new programmes when required.
  • Manufacture components to strict tolerances and quality standards.
  • Use measuring equipment to inspect finished components.
  • Complete quality and production records accurately.
  • Carry out daily machine checks and routine maintenance tasks.
  • Maintain high housekeeping standards and follow 5S principles.
  • Adhere to all health, safety and quality procedures within the machine shop.
  • Support the efficient day-to-day running of the department.
  • Candidate Requirements
  • Relevant engineering apprenticeship or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 3 years' CNC setting and operating experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Previous manufacturing experience.
  • Good communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
  • CNC programming experience or qualifications.
  • Experience using Fanuc and Mitsubishi controls.
  • Knowledge of Mori Seiki, Citizen and Muratec machines.
