The Governing Body at Springside Special School are seeking to appoint 2 suitably qualified, enthusiastic and experienced individuals into the role of Temporary Teaching Assistant Level 4 (+). The successful candidates will be working directly with pupils with complex additional educational needs, across all phases of our school; Nursery Year 6. Successful candidates will be expected to work across any of the Springside sites, as required.

We are seeking two temporary skilled, caring and motivated Level 4+ Teaching Assistants who are passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of children with special educational needs. You will understand that learning, communication, wellbeing and behaviour are closely connected, and that the most effective support is built on trust, consistency and positive relationships.
This is an exciting opportunity for two reflective and resilient practitioners who can balance high expectations with warmth, creativity and patience. Working alongside teachers, teaching assistants, support staff and other professionals, you will play a key role in delivering personalised learning experiences, supporting learners to engage in school life and celebrating progress in all its forms. Visits to both school sites are warmly encouraged in September. Applicants must possess GCSE English and Maths at grade A* - C, or GCSE level 9-4, or a level 2 qualification in Literacy and Numeracy or CSE Grade 1 in English and Maths. Applicants must also possess a relevant NQF/QCF/RQF level 3 qualification OR a Level 3 Teaching Assistant Apprenticeship qualification. The ability to converse at ease with customers and service users and provide advice in accurate spoken English is an essential requirement of this post.
Springside is a new-build special school co-located with a mainstream primary school. Informal visits to the school are warmly welcomed. The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Appointment to this post is subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring and background check.
