An exciting secondment opportunity has arisen to join the HR Transactional team as a Recruitment Compliance Assistant, for a short term period until 31st December 2026 due to a pending HR restructure. The post holder will be responsible for delivering a 1st class proactive resourcing compliance service across Southwest London St George’s Mental Health. This includes advising on processes in relation to compliance on DBS renewals.

You will be working under the direction of the Recruitment Manager, providing a resourcing compliance service for existing staff, carrying out renewals for DBS checks, completing factual reference requests received within the Trust, in line with the NHS streamline programme. This includes checking and verifying information on ESR and with the Employee Relations team. Additionally, you will be completing employment confirmation letters, mortgage reference requests and will support with general employee filing where required.

You will be supporting with cross cover in the team for honorary contracts where required and working on key work-streams and projects as directed by the Recruitment Manager. This post is offered on a short term basis until 31st December 2026, on a secondment basis, due to a pending HR restructure. You will be working in accordance with the Trust’s agile working policy. There is a requirement to remain flexible and attend the Trust sites as and when required.

To review and update professional registrations on ESR by checking relevant professional registers monthly ensuring compliance in line with Trust obligations. This includes writing to individuals and their managers prior to expiry and escalating any concerns to managers and the Recruitment Manager where required.

To review and carry out DBS rechecks for current staff in line with monthly reports from the workforce information team, to ensure compliance with Trust policy and our legal obligations. This includes updating ESR with new information where this has been received.

To review visa reports in line with monthly reports from the workforce information team, ensuring that all staff who require a visa are contacted in advance of their renewal date. This includes updating ESR and writing to individuals and their managers prior to expiry and escalating any concerns to managers and the Recruitment Manager and the employee relations team where required.

To provide a comprehensive and proactive response to general queries in relation to DBS, right to work visas and professional registration queries. To support with maintaining the electronic filing system ensuring security and confidentiality of information, record keeping, and storing of information for the renewal activities and updating these where required.

To ensure that high standards of service delivery and quality standards are maintained in the areas of resourcing compliance. This includes educating and advising colleagues regarding resourcing compliance and processes. To ensure effective communications with colleagues regarding the status of renewals and to help to resolve any concerns early on and escalating these to the Recruitment Manager where necessary.

All public facing roles require a proportionate level of English language proficiency for written and verbal communication and the Trust is required to verify results of certain English language competency tests relied upon. When the fluency duty is met by the provision of a sign language interpreter, the interpreter should be registered with the National Registers of Communication Professionals working with Deaf and Deafblind People (NRCPD).
