About the Opportunities
We are building a talent pool of experienced and passionate chefs who are interested in future opportunities within our
Wellington College kitchen and hospitality operation .
Our catering operation supports a wide range of requirements, from formal dinners and banquets to corporate functions, buffets, special occasions and large-scale events .
Depending on the opportunity, you could work across different areas of the kitchen and hospitality operation, preparing and delivering high-quality food for students, staff, guests and visitors .
We're particularly interested in hearing from chefs who are looking to develop their experience within hospitality, events and high-volume catering and who want to be part of a professional kitchen environment.
What You’ll Do
Depending on the position, your responsibilities may include
- Preparing, cooking and presenting high-quality food to the required standards.
- Working across a variety of hospitality events, including banquets, formal dinners, buffets and special occasions.
- Taking responsibility for your allocated kitchen section and ensuring it is well organised.
- Working with fresh ingredients and following recipes and menus.
- Supporting the preparation and delivery of large-scale events and functions.
- Maintaining high standards of food quality, presentation and consistency.
- Working efficiently during busy service periods and meeting deadlines.
- Supporting the wider kitchen team to ensure smooth and successful service.
- Maintaining excellent standards of food hygiene, allergen management, health & safety and cleanliness.
- Supporting stock control, food rotation and minimising waste.
- Contributing ideas and creativity to menus and food presentation.
- Maintaining a professional approach and delivering excellent service at all times.
What We’re Looking For passionate, skilled and reliable chefs who take pride in their work and enjoy being part of a professional kitchen team.
You may have experience as a
- Hospitality Chef
- Sous Chef
- Senior Chef
- Events Chef
- Contract Catering Chef
- Corporate Hospitality Chef
- School or Education Chef
- Or a similar professional chef role
You'll ideally have
- Strong cooking and food preparation skills.
- Experience working with fresh ingredients.
- The ability to work effectively in a busy kitchen environment.
- Good knowledge of food hygiene and safe working practices.
- Strong attention to detail and pride in food presentation.
- The ability to work under pressure and meet service deadlines.
- A positive, professional and flexible approach.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- A genuine passion for food and delivering high-quality dining experiences.
Experience in the following areas would be particularly valuable

- Banqueting and formal dining

Previous school catering experience isn't essential.

- Additional Information
For roles offered on a Term Time Only contract, your salary will be paid in 12 equal monthly instalments.
This means you will receive a consistent monthly salary throughout the year, including during school holiday periods.
