We are looking for a dedicated Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join our multidisciplinary Childrens Community Health Team.

This is a rewarding and influential role, where you will

  • Provide specialist assessment, diagnosis, and therapeutic interventions to children with a wide range of developmental needs.
  • Work collaboratively with families, carers, and other professionals to support children to develop independence, confidence, and essential life skills.
  • Contribute to holistic, personcentred care plans that enable children and their families to reach their full potential.

Base & Working Arrangements You will be based at one of our Surrey-wide office hubs, with the option of hybrid working to support your professional and personal needs.

  • Main Responsibilities
  • Complete detailed assessments and diagnoses, working with children and families to cocreate personalised treatment plans and communicate complex clinical information in a clear, supportive way.
  • Provide tailored interventions, advice, and training, including sourcing specialist equipment for home and school use.
  • Deliver care across a range of settings - homes, schools, nurseries, and clinics, ensuring equitable access and holistic support.
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and external agencies, attending joint sessions, case conferences, and maintaining effective communication throughout.
  • Prioritise goals for children with a variety of needs, including complex conditions or lifelimiting illnesses, and manage therapy blocks, discharges, and referrals appropriately.
  • Apply safe manual handling techniques and adapt practice to reflect the cultural and linguistic needs of families.
  • Uphold safeguarding responsibilities, manage incidents appropriately, and comply with mandatory training.
  • Prepare highquality written reports for EHCPs, reviews, and other professional documentation to support positive educational and therapeutic outcomes.
  • Ideal Candidate
  • Essential Diploma or Degree in Occupational Therapy HCPC registration
  • Evidence of relevant postgraduate training or equivalent experience, such as: Child development Specialist study of ASD, ADHD, and other neurodevelopmental conditions
  • Demonstrable postregistration experience working with children in a paediatric setting
  • Desirable Membership of BAOT
  • Membership of relevant Special Interest Groups
  • Clinical Educator qualification
  • Experience delivering childrens Occupational Therapy services in a community environment
  • Previous NHS experience
  • Additional requirement: A full driving licence and access to a car.
