The post-holder will manage a caseload and deal with a wide range of health needs in a primary care setting, ensuring the highest standards of care for all registered and temporary patients.
Working hours: Your working hours will fall between 08:00-18:00h from Monday to Friday. The number of hours and working days are open to negotiation with the successful candidate.
Salary: Negotiable, depending on skills and experience.
Clinical Responsibilities:
- Undertake all normal duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care.
- Conduct surgery consultations, telephone/video and e-consultations, and home visits.
- Make professional, autonomous decisions regarding presenting problems.
- Assess healthcare needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems.
- Screen patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness.
- Develop care plans for health in consultation with patients.
- Provide counselling and health education.
- Admit or discharge patients and refer to other care providers as appropriate.
- Record clear and contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standards.
- Collect data for audit purposes.
- Prescribe in accordance with the practice prescribing formulary whenever clinically appropriate.
- Take a lead role in particular areas of clinical function.
- Participate in the on-call rota for emergency patients and clinical queries.
- Supervise, advise and mentor Nurse Practitioners, Paramedic Practitioners, Practice Nurses, Healthcare Assistants, Phlebotomists, GP Registrars and medical students.

- Awareness of and compliance with all relevant practice policies/guidelines.
- A commitment to life-long learning and audit to ensure evidence-based best practice.
- Contribute to evaluation/audit and clinical standard setting within the organisation.
- Contribute to summarising patient records and read-coding patient data.
- Attend training and events organised by the practice or other agencies.

- Use personal security systems within the workplace according to practice guidelines.
- Identify risks involved in work activities and manage those risks.
- Use appropriate infection control procedures and maintain work areas safely.
