Ramsey Unit is looking for a compassionate, creative, and enthusiastic Recovery Support Worker to join our multidisciplinary team on our Cognitive Assessment Unit. We provide assessment and support for adults with cognitive impairment, and you will play a key role in enhancing patients' wellbeing through meaningful engagement, therapeutic activities, and person-centred care.

As a Recovery Support Worker, you will help deliver a varied programme of individual and group activities designed to provide cognitive stimulation, promote independence, encourage social interaction, and enhance quality of life. Working alongside occupational therapists, nursing staff, and the wider multidisciplinary team, you will support patients to engage in activities on the ward, within our beautiful grounds, and in the local community where appropriate.

You will build positive, supportive relationships with patients, carers, and families, creating a welcoming, inclusive, and therapeutic environment. You will contribute to delivering activities tailored to individual interests, abilities, and goals, helping people maintain skills, confidence, and wellbeing throughout their assessment and care.

Flexibility is essential, as the role includes working across seven days, including evenings, to meet the needs of the service. We are looking for someone with experience or an interest in working with older adults, cognitive impairment, dementia, mental health, social care, or therapeutic activities. You will have a creative, patient, and person-centred approach, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.

A passion for promoting meaningful occupation, cognitive stimulation, and improving the lives of people living with cognitive impairment is essential. In return, you will join a supportive and dedicated team with access to excellent training and development opportunities.

LSCFT values diversity and inclusion, recognising that talent from varied backgrounds creates a flexible, creative, and effective workforce. We actively challenge discrimination and welcome applications from all, regardless of age, disability (including those with experience of accessing or caring for someone who has accessed mental health or learning disability services), ethnicity, gender, religion, belief, or sexual orientation. Our aim is to reflect the communities we serve, so we particularly encourage applications from under-represented groups. We also welcome individuals with lived experience relevant to the role or service area, as your insight brings authenticity to our services.

LSCFT support flexible working; we believe that a positive work/life balance benefits NHS employees through improved health and wellbeing. We would consider working patterns such as term time, part time, compressed hours and flexi-time. The wellbeing of our people is at the heart of everything we do. We offer a wide range of resources, tools and support to help you thrive both in and out of work.
