Place of Safety is a safespace where police bring individual under section section136/ section 135 of the Mental Health Act 1983 to assessed. Police have this power to detain and remove to a place of safety any member of the public under section 136 where it appears to them that the person maybe experiencing mental health challenges which they believe may place the person themselves at risk or others at risk, because of the mental health presentation.

Responsibilities

• To undertake unsupervised assigned tasks within the ward/clinical team and report the outcomes to a qualified nurse.
• Assistin the provision of care.
• To provide support, whereappropriate torelatives and carers.
• To work in support of the qualified nurses and be directed and supervised by them to undertake assigned tasks.
• To mentor and support junior nursing assistants as required by the Nurse in charge

• Previous experience working as a Band 2 Support Worker in a mental health acute care setting, Previous experience of care work, Previous experience of working in a health care setting.
• Good oral and written communication, Friendly, helpful, and calm

• Seeks opportunities to develop within the role.
