Power Resilience is critical to Thames Water's ability to provide safe, reliable services to millions of customers. We are expanding our Power Resilience capability to enhance how power is planned, maintained and improved across our operations. We are looking for talented individuals to join this growing team and help build a coordinated, data-led approach to managing Power Resilience across Thames Water.

The Power Data Analyst will deliver high-quality Power data analysis, reporting and insight to support system criticality, Power Resilience and performance improvement. As Power Data Analyst you will support forecasts and business case analysis, contribute to the Power Resilience strategy and create timely and accurate outputs for decision‑making. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to a critical area of UK infrastructure and make a meaningful difference to customer outcomes and environmental protection. As the team grows, members will help shape future ways of working and bring their expertise to create lasting impact across Thames Water.

Working pattern or hours: 36 Hours per week (Monday to Friday)

Key responsibilities:

  • Data Analysis: You will analyse power, asset and operational data to understand system criticality, resilience performance and where interventions should be prioritised.
  • Data Preparation: You will prepare and maintain datasets, models and visualisations for Power Resilience dashboards and reporting packs.
  • Forecasting and Business Cases: You will deliver forecasts, options analysis and evidence to support business cases and investment planning.
  • Judgement and Problem‑Solving: You will identify risks and provide clear recommendations to support operational and strategic decisions.
  • Continuous Improvement: You will support data quality and digitisation initiatives and provide feedback on process improvements.

What you should bring to the role?

  • Relevant qualification in engineering, mathematics, data science, or a related discipline OR relevant technical experience.
  • Experience in data analysis, reporting or analytics, ideally in utilities/regulated environments.
  • Familiarity with asset, maintenance or outage data and supporting systems.
  • Ability to produce accurate datasets, models and insights.
  • Further qualifications in analytics or utilities. (desirable)

The essential criteria to help you succeed in this role is:

  • Strong analytical and data visualisation skills. (e.g., Power BI, Excel or similar)
  • Good understanding of data modelling and reporting concepts.
  • IT literacy and ability to communicate complex information.
  • Knowledge of Power systems or utilities data.
