We are recruiting for a prestigious employer within the motor trade industry in Reading, Berkshire, seeking an experienced MET Technician to join their busy bodyshop environment. Competitive hourly rate of between £16.50 and £23 per hour (flat salary or basic plus bonus scheme).

Monday to Friday working hours, 45 hours per week. No weekend shifts, allowing for better work-life balance.

Duties of an MET Technician:

  • Conduct mechanical repairs and bodywork on allocated vehicles.
  • Dismantling, fault finding, and diagnostic work to identify issues accurately.
  • Re-assemble vehicles using new parts as required.
  • Perform inspections and testing to ensure vehicle safety and quality.
  • Identify faults or work that requires attention, prioritising safety considerations.
  • Safe and legal road testing of vehicles to confirm repair quality and road worthiness.

Requirements of an MET Technician:

  • Demonstrable experience as an MET Technician within a busy bodyshop environment.
  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality work.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • ATA or NVQ qualifications are preferred but not essential.
  • Time-served individuals with relevant experience are encouraged to apply.
