We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated psychology graduate to work in the Adult Community Psychological Service across South East Essex.

The Adult Community Psychological Service provides specialist psychology input across three specialist mental health teams in South East Essex.
The service is committed to enhancing access to psychological therapies and embedding psychological skills within multidisciplinary teams (MDTs).
Working closely with the senior management team, the Clinical Director of Psychological Services supports the ongoing development of psychological therapies and leadership opportunities for psychologists.

The Assistant Psychologist will work alongside qualified Clinical and Counselling Psychologists, Psychotherapists and Clinical Associates in Psychology providing an Adult Community Psychological Service to local community mental health teams.
Psychologists provide direct client contact in the form of assessment and treatment, as well as providing consultation and supervision to other professionals.
The post-holder should have a passion for developing their clinical and research skills, and be keen to work flexibly and in a variety of settings.
You will be expected to support qualified psychologists in the preparation and co-facilitation of group therapy programmes and the delivery of specific components of clinical treatment under close supervision.
There will be a key responsibility to support the service undertake audit and research projects.
There will be significant opportunity to gain experience of working in a multidisciplinary team, including liaison with allied professionals, contributing to the sharing of psychological knowledge and case discussion.
Remaining time will include attending referrals meetings, participating in departmental forums and opportunities to shadow other team members.
Your work will be closely supervised by an experienced psychologist and you will therefore also gain extensive experience of the supervisory process.

Clinical research, teaching and specialised interests are actively encouraged.
As well as formal courses, members of the department have enjoyed secondments and placements at several centres of excellence.
Current members of the department are clinical tutors on training courses, hold honorary lecturer and fellowship positions and are actively involved with special interest groups at the DCP.
