A leading engineering and manufacturing organisation based in Burnley is seeking a Quality Inspector to join its growing quality team.

This is an excellent opportunity to work within a highly regulated precision engineering environment, supporting the inspection and release of high-quality components supplied to a diverse customer base.

Your new role

As Quality Inspector, you will be responsible for ensuring products meet customer, industry and company quality standards.

Working closely with production and engineering teams, you will conduct first-off, in-process and final inspections, supporting continuous improvement activities across the business.

Key responsibilities include

  • Carrying out dimensional inspections using a range of manual measuring equipment.
  • Interpreting engineering drawings, specifications and quality documentation.
  • Performing first article, in-process and final inspection activities.
  • Completing quality reports and maintaining accurate inspection records.
  • Supporting non-conformance investigations and corrective actions.
  • Assisting with internal audits and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensuring compliance with ISO 9001 and company quality procedures.
  • Liaising with production teams to resolve quality-related issues.
  • What you'll need to succeed
  • Previous experience in a Quality Inspector, Mechanical Inspector or Quality Technician position within an engineering or manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
  • Experience using inspection equipment such as verniers, micrometers, height gauges and bore gauges.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Good understanding of quality systems and inspection processes.
  • Experience within precision engineering, aerospace, automotive, manufacturing or similar sectors would be advantageous.
