The predicted salary is between 40965 - 46671 £ per year.

Salary: £40,965 - £46,671 per annum pro-rata (actual £24,579 - £28,002.60 per annum) - depending on qualifications and experience plus £579 pro-rata fringe allowance (actual £347.40 per annum); based on 0.6fte role.

Contract: Permanent Contract, 52 weeks per year.

Hours per Week: 22.2 hours per week (0.6fte), with the potential to increase to 29.6 (0.8fte) for 1 year due to additional funding (with a 6 month review).

Days: Monday to Friday (including evenings/Saturdays as & when required).

Thurrock Adult Community College is the local authority's provider of adult education for Thurrock. Our main base is in the Old Court House in Grays, but we deliver courses across the borough. Thurrock Adult Community College is a strong standard provider, a rewarding place to work and an inspiring place to learn.

  • You should be learner focused in your approach, demonstrate enthusiasm and passion for adult learning and welcome the opportunity to contribute to the college's mission which is to make a positive difference to local people and their communities.
  • You will manage, inspire and motivate a small but growing team of tutors delivering accredited (functional skills) and non-accredited; English, maths and Essential Digital Skills courses. Making sure planning, delivering and monitoring of teaching, learning and assessment takes place at the highest standards for our learners.
  • You will be at strong standard for teaching, learning and assessment practitioner.
  • You will manage and develop a designated portfolio of English, maths and Digital Skills courses, ensuring learners reach their full potential and the college maximises its funding drawdown.
  • You will need to focus on a strong standard quality provision, resulting in high attendance, retention and achievement rates.
  • Experience in a similar role is required. You will also have experience of teaching adults, curriculum design & management in adult education, quality management and improvement along with knowledge of current adult education funding rules.
  • You will have a specialism qualification in English or Maths.
  • You will have a teaching qualification relevant to post-16 provision.
  • An Enhanced DBS check with Children's Barred list is required.
