We are looking for an experienced Production / Process Team Leader to support the day-to-day operation of a busy manufacturing environment in Wirral.

Reporting to the Production Supervisor, you will be responsible for leading and supporting a production team to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently and to the required quality standards.

This is a hands-on leadership position where you will coordinate daily production activities, monitor performance, resolve operational issues and help ensure production targets are consistently achieved.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, motivate and support production/process operatives during the shift.
  • Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with company health and safety procedures.
  • Promote a positive safety culture and challenge unsafe working practices.
  • Ensure required quality standards and specifications are consistently achieved.
  • Monitor production output against daily and weekly production targets.
  • Allocate work and resources to ensure production schedules are achieved.
  • Monitor process performance and identify issues affecting output, quality or efficiency.
  • Escalate equipment, process or production issues to the Production Supervisor where required.
  • Carry out basic problem solving and support corrective actions.
  • Ensure production paperwork, process records and shift documentation are completed accurately.
  • Provide regular production updates and performance information to the Production Supervisor.
  • Complete production reports covering output, downtime, quality issues and any operational concerns.
  • Support investigations into production or quality issues.
  • Ensure good housekeeping and workplace standards are maintained.
  • Support the training and development of new and existing team members.
  • Ensure employees follow agreed operating procedures and work instructions.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives aimed at improving safety, quality, productivity and efficiency.
  • Work closely with Production, Quality, Maintenance and other departments to minimise downtime and maintain production flow.

About You

You will ideally have

  • Previous experience as a Team Leader, Production Team Leader, Process Team Leader, Manufacturing Team Leader or Senior Operator.
  • Experience working within a manufacturing, production or process environment.
  • Previous responsibility for supervising or coordinating a production team.
  • A good understanding of health and safety within a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience working to production targets and quality standards.
  • Strong communication and people-management skills.
  • Good problem-solving skills and the ability to respond effectively to production issues.
  • Experience completing production paperwork, reports and performance records.
  • A practical, hands-on approach to leadership.
  • The ability to organise workloads and prioritise effectively.
