We are currently seeking an experienced Tractor Driver for an immediate start on a busy civil engineering project based in Whittingham, Preston.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established contractor working on a long-term project with consistent hours and the potential for ongoing work.
The Role
As a Tractor Driver, you will be responsible for operating a tractor with a water bowser to carry out dust suppression across the site.
You will play a key role in maintaining safe site conditions while supporting the wider site team and ensuring work is completed efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate a tractor with a water bowser for dust suppression across the site.
- Carry out dust control in active work areas in line with site requirements.
- Transport water around the site as required to maintain safe working conditions.
- Complete daily vehicle checks and report any defects or maintenance issues.
- Ensure machinery is operated safely and in accordance with site rules and manufacturer guidelines.
- Work closely with site management to ensure dust suppression is carried out effectively throughout the working day.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment while adhering to all health and safety regulations.
Requirements
- Valid CPCS or NPORS Tractor Operator Card (essential).
- Previous experience operating a tractor on construction or civil engineering projects.
- Experience using a water bowser for dust suppression is desirable.
- Good understanding of site health and safety procedures.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable, punctual, and committed to delivering high-quality work.
