As a therapy support worker no two days are the same, the morning starts with the daily handover where we plan our work for the day. This could include joint sessions with the Physio, OT or another therapy assistant as well as individual treatment interventions. These sessions include facilitation of washing and dressing activities, mobility practice and exercises, sensory stimulation, cognitive rehabilitation and the use of excel spreadsheets to gather audit data. This role is very hands on and we want you there with our patients, right by their side, helping them through their recovery with your empathetic and calm nature.

Whatever your role, you help look after 370,000 people in our local area & give specialist care to 1.5 million people across Lancashire & Cumbria.

Working with us gives you the knowledge and sense of pride that every activity you do genuinely does make a difference to support our patients & staff, ensuring we keep thriving & delivering outstanding healthcare right across our local towns. You’ll make an impact, be challenged to think differently, be bold & help innovate to keep improving things.

Everything we do centres around patient care which means your role is pivotal and something really to be proud of. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a supportive team and learn valuable new skills. You will need to have effective communication skills to liaise with other members of the MDT, patients, their relatives and outside agencies.

You will directly support the delivery of therapy to patients, manage your own caseload as identified during the morning handover, support therapy assistants in the prioritisation and organisation of their patient caseload, feedback patient responses to treatment or any changes in their condition to their therapist and measure for/provide any equipment required for discharge.
