Everest Recruitment & Services Ltd is recruiting experienced Locum Registrars at ST3+ level for temporary medical assignments across Health and Social Care Trusts throughout Northern Ireland. We receive short-term, long-term and ongoing requirements across a range of medical and surgical specialties, including:

  • General Surgery
  • Urology
  • Acute Medicine
  • Trauma and Orthopaedics
  • Obstetrics and Gynaecology
  • ENT
  • Plastic Surgery
  • Paediatrics
  • Elderly Care
  • Other Registrar-level specialties

Assignments may include vacancy cover, additional clinical capacity, annual leave cover, sickness cover, rota gaps and longer-term service requirements. Successful doctors will work at Registrar level within consultant-led multidisciplinary teams. Depending on the specialty and assignment, responsibilities may include assessing and managing patients, reviewing admissions, participating in ward rounds, outpatient clinics, theatre lists, emergency services and specialty on-call rotas.

Key responsibilities may include:

  • Assessing, investigating, diagnosing and managing patients within the relevant specialty.
  • Providing safe clinical care and decision-making at ST3+ or equivalent Registrar level.
  • Participating in consultant-led ward rounds and implementing agreed treatment plans.
  • Managing acute presentations and responding appropriately to clinical deterioration.
  • Participating in emergency, weekend and on-call rotas where required.
  • Undertaking procedures appropriate to the doctor’s training, experience and demonstrated competence.
  • Supporting outpatient clinics, theatre activity, inpatient services and emergency departments where applicable.
  • Supervising and supporting Foundation Doctors, Core Trainees and other junior clinical staff.
  • Providing clear clinical handovers and escalating concerns to the responsible Consultant.
  • Working effectively with nursing, allied health professional and wider multidisciplinary teams.
  • Maintaining accurate, timely and confidential clinical documentation.
  • Using electronic patient record systems such as EPIC, Encompass or other Trust-approved systems where required.
  • Contributing to clinical governance, audit, quality improvement, teaching and patient-safety activities.
  • Following GMC standards, safeguarding requirements, infection prevention procedures and HSC Trust policies.

This is temporary medical locum agency work. Assignment availability, duration, hours and working patterns depend on individual HSC Trust requirements and cannot be guaranteed. Payment will normally be made through PAYE. Individual assignments may be assessed as inside IR35 by the client organisation. Everest Recruitment & Services Ltd does not provide visa sponsorship.
