We are seeking an active, friendly, kind, honest, and reliable support worker to assist a 16-year-old teenager boy with autism, ADHD, and Developmental Language Disorder (DLD).
The ideal candidate will have experience and qualifications working with children with autism and a good understanding of neuro‑diverse needs.
Duties will include helping him develop life skills, promote independence, and keep him safe both at home and in the community. Responsibilities include:
- Prompting and encouraging personal care, and dressing appropriately for the weather or occasion.
- Encouraging and teaching life skills, such as making meals, drinks, and using household equipment such as washing machine.
- Accompanying him safely in the community, as he has no road safety awareness.
- Supporting and encouraging him to attend activities, and autism-friendly cinema screenings.
- Engaging with him in hobbies such as gaming, Star Wars, and superhero discussions.
