We are seeking an enthusiastic and organised Housekeeper to join our busy Critical Care Unit. This is a vital support role that contributes directly to the smooth and efficient running of the department, ensuring that patients, relatives and staff are supported within a safe, clean and well-organised environment.
You will undertake a range of non-clinical duties including:
- Stock management
- Ordering patient meals
- Coordinating supplies
- Liaising with support services
- Maintaining the day-to-day organisation of the unit
Working as part of the multidisciplinary team, you will play an important role in releasing valuable clinical time, allowing nursing and medical staff to focus on delivering high-quality patient care. The role requires excellent communication skills, strong organisational abilities and a proactive approach to problem solving in a fast-paced clinical environment.

Your responsibilities will also include:
- Working alongside the stores team with maintaining stock levels of clinical and non-clinical supplies, ensuring essential items are available and appropriately stored.
- Ordering patient meals and supporting patients and families with menu choices using the trust's electronic ordering system.
- Ensuring the unit's environment remains clean, organised and welcoming, supporting high standards of patient care and infection prevention.
- Liaising with catering, domestic services, estates, procurement and other support departments to resolve operational issues promptly.
- Supporting the management of staff facilities and resources, including locker allocation and upkeep of communal areas.
- Identifying and reporting maintenance, environmental or stock issues and taking appropriate action to minimise disruption to the service.
