Koala North West is recruiting for a Family Support Co-ordinator for the Liverpool Oral Health Project. Would you like to work for an organisation that makes a difference to the lives of local families and children? An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Family Support Co-ordinator to join our friendly team. Koala North West has been successfully supporting families for 26 years and we are looking for someone who is passionate about the quality of services available for families with children aged 0-7 years.
Office Base: Liverpool
Hours: 25 hours per week, times and days to be discussed at interview
Purposes of the Job:
- You’ll work directly with families in the community and home to help children develop healthy oral health habits while connecting parents with the support and services they need.
Supporting families:
- Supporting families through home visits and community-based sessions.
- Helping parents establish healthy toothbrushing and oral health routines.
- Delivering fun and engaging oral health awareness sessions for parents and children in schools, community venues etc.
- Providing free toothbrushes and fluoride toothpaste to families.
- Supporting parents to access other local services and community groups.
- Keeping accurate records and contributing to monitoring and evaluation.
- Safeguarding children and promoting their welfare at all times.
Supporting a team of volunteers:
- Helping co-ordinate a team of volunteers to take part in community events promoting children's oral health and provide them with support.
Supporting schools & wider partners:
- Assist our project lead in supporting schools and settings to enroll in the All Together Smiling Supervised Tooth Brushing Programme.
- Working closely with schools, health professionals, Liverpool City Council and partner organisations.
