Postgraduate Administrator | London North West University Healthcare NHS Trust

The post holder will be a member of the post graduate education team within the Medical Education department and will be responsible for providing organisational and management support to the delivery of resident doctors’ clinical placements, whilst working closely with Postgraduate administration team, Postgraduate Education Manager and training programme directors and Director of Medical Education.

The role holder will act as a key point of contact within the trust for resident doctors and has an essential liaison function between the trust and relevant programme team within NHSE.

The post requires a high level of self-directed work, great organisational skills, troubleshooting and the ability to deal sensitively with senior clinical and nonclinical staff.

  • Provide an efficient and comprehensive administrative support to the postgraduate education department always maintaining a high professional standard when liaising with colleagues, resident doctors, consultants and other trust colleagues.
  • Assist with the processing of study leave applications for trainees, Specialty and specialist doctors (SAS) and consultants.
  • Maintain and oversee database of Educational and Clinical Supervisors – consultants supporting resident doctors, ensuring that their training is up to date.
  • Develop and maintain a database of locally employed doctors (LEDs)
  • Support and administer various teaching programmes: foundation, GP programme, as well as weekly multi-disciplinary Grand Round meetings, by booking a venue, recruiting speakers / presenters and ensuring that it is advertised appropriately.
  • Provide administrative assistance to resident doctors’ corporate inductions, working closely with Postgraduate Education manager and other colleagues within the team.
  • Support various training programmes as and when necessary, working closely with Postgraduate co-ordinators, training programme directors and Postgraduate Education Manager.
  • Administrate room bookings at the Postgraduate Medical Education Centre’s (PGME) lecture theatre and seminar rooms, keeping accurate and up to date records for PGME team as part of cross covering the centre’s facilities.
