We are recruiting on behalf of our client, a reputable franchised main dealer in Portsmouth, for a Diagnostic Vehicle Technician. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled technician to join a well-established dealership with a strong focus on quality service and professional development. The Diagnostic Vehicle Technician role offers stability, a supportive working environment, and the chance to work with the latest vehicle technologies in state-of-the-art facilities.

Basic salary up to £36,000 with an on-target earning (OTE) around £48,000. Monday to Friday working hours, 08:30-17:30, with no weekend commitments.

Duties of the Diagnostic Vehicle Technician:

  • Conduct vehicle diagnostics, servicing, and repairs in accordance with brand standards.
  • Utilise advanced diagnostic tools and digital systems to identify faults efficiently.
  • Liaise directly with customers when required, providing clear advice and updates.
  • Support and mentor less experienced colleagues within the workshop.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment, adhering to health and safety standards.
  • Attend training sessions to maintain and develop technical expertise.
  • Ensure compliance with all dealership processes and procedures as a Diagnostic Vehicle Technician.

Requirements of the Diagnostic Vehicle Technician:

  • Relevant technical qualifications such as City & Guilds, BTEC, or NVQ in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair.
  • Previous experience in a franchised dealership or similar environment.
  • Strong organisational and prioritisation skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to logically approach diagnostics and problem-solving.
  • Proactive attitude with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to stay up-to-date with evolving vehicle technologies and manufacturer updates.
  • Full valid UK driving licence.
