Acorn by Synergie is currently recruiting for an experienced CNC Lathe Setter Operator to join a leading global manufacturer within the Life Sciences sector based in Portsmouth.

- 37.5 hours per week.
- Occasional night shifts may be required to meet business demands.
- Key Duties
- Set and operate CNC/NC lathe machinery.
- Prove out new and existing CNC programmes.
- Programme and set machines using Fanuc or similar controls.
- Manufacture precision components to engineering specifications.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Carry out self-inspection using measuring equipment.
- Record production activities accurately within internal scheduling systems.
- Report production issues to Team Leaders.
- Maintain high housekeeping standards through daily 5S activities.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across the machine shop.
Requirements
- Previous experience setting and operating CNC/NC lathes.
- Ability to prove out new CNC programmes.
- Strong knowledge of Fanuc or similar controls.
- Experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
- Competence in self-inspection and quality checking using measuring equipment.
- Experience machining stainless steel components.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
- Flexible and proactive approach to work.
- Time-served apprenticeship or recognised engineering qualification.
- Experience working within a precision engineering or manufacturing environment.
