Part-time Personal Assistant

A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF

I am a 9-year-old boy living in the Rhydyfelin area with my parents, sister, dog and cat. I am a very happy and messy boy who loves food! I also like all forms of transport as I enjoy moving, especially being in a car. I also love nature and going for walks and love all forms of water and swimming in the pool. I have a diagnosis of ASD and I am non-verbal. I wear nappies and I do not like being in crowded places.

PURPOSE OF JOB

I am looking for a PA to support me to access the community and take part in fun activities. My safety would need to be ensured while out as I have no sense of danger. This would also provide my parents with some respite.

HOURS OF WORK

I have 6 hours per week available which will ideally be worked in one shift on a Saturday.

RATES OF PAY

£14 per hour plus 40p per mile.

TASKS INVOLVED

  • Changing me when required.
  • Taking me out into the community and ensuring I am safe at all times.
  • Thinking of new places we can go together.
  • Potentially staying at home with me on the odd occasion we cannot go out.
  • Keeping me calm as I can get frustrated, especially surrounding food.

ABOUT THE JOB

Though a part-time job, this will be a proper job requiring a National Insurance number to be submitted. A trial period will be necessary in the first instance. The wage will be paid Monthly and appropriate holiday pay given. The post is subject to satisfactory references and a DBS (Police) Check - which will need to be carried out before employment can commence. The cost of this will be met by the employer (Local Authority). The relevant checks will be carried out to ensure any applicant has the right to work in the UK.
