Our client, a reputable franchise-approved commercial vehicle dealer group with multiple sites nationwide, is seeking a fully qualified HGV Technician for their busy Pontefract dealership.

Duties of a HGV Technician

  • Conduct major and minor repairs on heavy goods vehicles
  • Perform regular inspections and preventive maintenance services
  • Maintain an organised inventory within the workshop
  • Ensure workshop cleanliness, including managing oil spills and dust
  • Assist in diagnosing vehicle issues alongside repair teams
  • Record repairs and maintenance using Keyloop/Kerridge systems
  • Complete all relevant documentation, warranties, and escalated claims as necessary
  • Carry out wheel alignments and tyre fitting
  • Provide accurate and timely customer documentation
  • Work efficiently within set timeframes to maintain workshop productivity

Requirements of a HGV Technician

  • Qualified to IMI/NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance & Repair
  • Ideally 1-2 years of practical experience post-qualification
  • Strong team player with a collaborative attitude
  • Able to produce high-quality work in a fast-paced environment
  • Motivated to meet and exceed targets
  • Valid HGV driving licence is highly desirable but not essential
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
