This role combines warehouse operations, trade counter customer service, and industrial gas sales responsibilities.
The successful candidate will be expected to deliver excellent customer service at all times while supporting the smooth running of warehouse and trade counter activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Warehouse Operations
- Receive and unload deliveries, including palletised goods
- Operate a counterbalance forklift truck
- Pick, pack and prepare customer orders
- Assist with loading delivery vehicles
- Carry out stock takes as required
- General warehouse housekeeping and cleanliness
- Serve customers on the trade counter
- Process industrial gas cylinder transactions
- Answer incoming telephone calls when required
- Assist colleagues with store-related enquiries
- Maintain a clean, professional trade counter and shop front
- Administration
- Accurately complete and process paperwork
- Resolve goods-in discrepancies with suppliers
- Process relevant documentation and returns
- Progress purchase orders when required
- Arrange deliveries with third-party carriers
- Additional Duties
- Delivery driving duties using vehicles up to 3.5 tonnes
- Testing and setting up welding equipment following training
- Welding torch repairs following training
- Undertake other duties as required by the business
- Clean driving licence (all endorsements/points must be declared)
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Good customer service and communication skills
- Ability to work in a physically demanding warehouse environment
- Willingness to undertake training and learn new skills
