Duties as Teaching Assistant (Year 2):
- Support pupils within a Year 2 classroom during lessons and daily activities
- Work with individuals and small groups to reinforce learning
- Assist with phonics, reading, writing, and numeracy activities
- Support pupils’ social, emotional, and behavioural development
- Help maintain a positive, inclusive, and well-managed classroom environment
- Support classroom routines, transitions, and organisation
- Work collaboratively with the class teacher and wider support staff
- Observe and feedback on pupil progress and engagement
- Encourage positive behaviour, confidence, and independence
- Uphold safeguarding, welfare, and health and safety responsibilities at all times
Ideal Teaching Assistant (Year 2):
- Experience working as a Teaching Assistant or supporting children in Key Stage 1
- Understanding of the Year 2 curriculum and child development
- Patient, caring, and supportive approach
