The Key Stage 2 Teaching Assistant will work closely with class teachers to support pupils in upper primary, helping them develop independence, confidence, and key academic skills. Duties as Key Stage 2 Teaching Assistant:
- Support pupils across Key Stage 2 in lessons and daily classroom activities
- Work with individuals and small groups to reinforce learning in core subjects
- Assist with literacy, numeracy, and wider curriculum activities
- Support pupils’ social, emotional, and behavioural development
- Help maintain a positive, inclusive, and well-managed classroom environment
- Support classroom routines, transitions, and organisation
- Work collaboratively with teachers and other support staff
- Observe pupil progress and feedback to teaching staff
- Encourage positive behaviour, engagement, and independence
- Uphold safeguarding, welfare, and health and safety responsibilities at all times
Ideal Key Stage 2 Teaching Assistant:
- Experience working as a Teaching Assistant or supporting children in Key Stage 2
- Understanding of the Key Stage 2 curriculum and child development
- Patient, calm, and supportive approach
