Looking for a care job where you actually get to know the people you support? At City Care Southwest, we recruit locally and carefully match our care assistants with a regular group of clients close to home. That means familiar faces, proper relationships and visits where you know how someone likes their tea—not a whistle-stop tour of half the county.
You will support adults to live safely and independently in their own homes. Some visits involve personal care or medication, while others might involve preparing lunch, helping with shopping, attending an appointment or simply having a good chat over a cup of tea. Our visits are about more than completing a list of tasks. We want our clients to feel listened to, respected and genuinely pleased to see you.
Your role may include:
- Supporting clients with personal care in a dignified and respectful way
- Helping with prescribed medication
- Preparing meals, snacks and drinks
- Supporting shopping, appointments and everyday activities
- Providing companionship and emotional support
- Encouraging independence, choice and confidence
- Noticing and reporting changes in a client’s wellbeing
- Completing clear and accurate care records
You will regularly visit the same clients in your local area, helping you build trust and understand what really matters to each person.
What we offer:
- Travel time paid at your normal hourly rate
- Paid mileage between visits
- Permanent contracts with guaranteed hours
- Local rotas with regular clients
- Visits of at least 45 minutes
- Paid induction, practical training and shadowing
- Uniform provided
- Paid Blue Light Card
- Opportunities to complete a Level 3 apprenticeship
- Career development into mentoring, senior and leadership roles
- A friendly, supportive management team
- Your birthday off
Previous care experience is welcome, but it is not essential. We can teach you how to provide safe care. We cannot teach you to be naturally kind, dependable or interested in other people—and those are the qualities that matter most to us.
Because you will be visiting clients in their own homes, you must hold a full UK driving licence and have access to a suitable vehicle. Applicants must already have the right to work in the UK. We are unable to provide visa sponsorship.
Our values are simple: Be Available. Be Responsible. Be the Change.
