We are currently recruiting for Picker Packer positions in Burton-Upon-Trent (DE14 2UZ). At Waterstones Bookseller, you will become part of a supportive and welcoming team, working under the guidance of inspiring leaders across various departments. Our dedicated on-site team is here to assist you in your role, ensuring you have the resources and support needed to excel in your position.
Role of a Picker Packer:
- Accurately pick and pack books and toys using RDT technology
- Carry out a variety of warehouse duties including sorting, picking, and packing
- Handle tasks involving lifting, moving items, walking, and standing for most of the shift
- Prepare goods for dispatch, including labelling, wrapping, and ensuring secure packaging
- Operate pump trucks safely and efficiently
- Follow standard operating procedures in line with company policies
- Maintain a strong focus on Health & Safety, reporting any concerns immediately
- Support stock management activities, including inventory counts and investigations when required
- Work closely with the Team Leader to complete daily operational tasks
- Undertake any other reasonable duties to support the smooth running of the business
As a Picker Packer you will need to have:
- Flexibility regarding shifts and availability for overtimes
- Physically fit and capable of maintaining physical activity
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Self‑motivated
- Ability to work in a busy environment
- Ability to give attention to detail

- Location: Burton On Trent, DE14 2UZ
- Various shifts available - AM and PM shifts available, working any 5 days out of 7 , including Sundays . Candidates must be flexible to work between 06:00-14:00 and 14:00-22:00 . Shifts are confirmed daily via the Job&Talent app , with a 7‑week rota in place.
