An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic Band 5 Physiotherapist to join the friendly multidisciplinary team at Athlone Rehabilitation Unit on a 7-month fixed-term contract or secondment.

Open to new graduates and those with existing experience who would like to experience working in a rehab unit.

If you are passionate about rehabilitation, enjoy working collaboratively and are committed to delivering high-quality, person-centred care, we would love to hear from you.

This role offers an excellent opportunity to further develop your clinical expertise and leadership skills within a supportive and experienced therapy team.

You will receive regular supervision and mentorship from the Senior Physiotherapist, and supported by the Clinical Therapies Lead, the Team Lead Physiotherapist and Team Lead Occupational Therapist at Athlone Rehabilitation Unit, as well as support from the Team Lead Physiotherapist at Alexandra Rehabilitation Unit.

Athlone Rehabilitation Unit is a 22-bed inpatient service providing rehabilitation for adults with a wide range of conditions, including orthopaedic, frailty, falls, elderly care and neurological rehabilitation needs.

You will work with patients throughout their rehabilitation journey, carrying out comprehensive assessments, delivering evidence-based interventions and supporting individuals to achieve their rehabilitation goals and maximise their independence.

As a Band 5 Physiotherapist, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality rehabilitation services as part of a skilled multidisciplinary team. You will:

  • Deliver a comprehensive physiotherapy service to patients across the Inner North West London Boroughs.

  • Assess, plan, implement and evaluate individualised rehabilitation programmes for patients, including those on rehabilitation and non-weight-bearing pathways.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve positive rehabilitation outcomes and support timely, coordinated discharge planning.
  • Contribute to initiatives that improve patient flow and reduce length of stay, including undertaking key worker responsibilities where appropriate.
  • Work flexibly across rehabilitation sites when required to support service delivery.
  • Maintain accurate, timely and professional clinical documentation.
  • Support the supervision, development and clinical learning of junior staff, students and therapy support workers.
  • Contribute to service improvement through participation in audit, quality improvement and evidence-based practice.
  • Maintain and develop your own knowledge and skills through continuing professional development (CPD), reflective practice and learning opportunities.
