Perfect Household Staff is pleased to present an excellent opportunity for a professional, reliable and proactive Part-Time Live-Out Housekeeper Cook to join a private household based in Lambeth, London. This is a permanent position offering approximately 20 hours per week across 4 to 5 days, with flexibility for the right candidate.

The role is ideally suited to a self-motivated individual who can manage household duties independently to a high standard. The household comprises two principals and two teenage children. The family maintains a structured and organised environment and values discretion, efficiency and attention to detail.

The successful candidate will take sole charge of the housekeeping and cooking responsibilities, ensuring the smooth daily running of the home. The family travels frequently during school holidays, offering a degree of flexibility during these periods. The role combines hands-on housekeeping with the preparation of fresh, healthy meals.

The candidate will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and organisation throughout the property, as well as planning and preparing nutritious dinners for the household. There is also a small family dog, and light pet care, including walking, will be required.

The family is open to offering either formal employment with standard holiday entitlement or a self-employed arrangement, depending on the candidate’s preference.

Main duties of the Housekeeper/Cook:

  • Maintaining the property to a high standard, including cleaning, dusting, hoovering and overall organisation
  • Laundry and ironing, including care of bedding, towels and household linens
  • Changing bed linens and maintaining bedroom presentation
  • Managing wardrobes, cupboards and storage areas in an organised manner
  • Overseeing household supplies and replenishment
  • Managing children’s school uniforms and sports kits, ensuring they are clean and prepared
  • Preparing fresh, healthy, home-cooked dinners
  • Grocery shopping or compiling shopping lists
  • Managing food storage efficiently and minimising waste
  • Walking and caring for the small household dog
  • Running occasional errands such as dry cleaning and shopping

Requirements for this Housekeeper/Cook job:

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience within a private household
  • Strong cooking skills with the ability to prepare varied, nutritious meals
  • Trustworthy, discreet and respectful of household privacy
  • Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently
  • Comfortable with pet care, including dog walking
  • At least two excellent, checkable references
  • Valid right to work in the UK
