Ward Based Pharmacy Support Worker Band 2/3

Monday - Friday (Evening/Weekend & Bank Holiday working on a rotational basis)

Do you thrive in a fast paced Pharmacy environment? Are you passionate about making sure patients receive safe, timely, high quality care? If so, we want you to join our pharmacy team. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated Pharmacy Support Worker who enjoys variety, values teamwork, and wants to play a key role in improving patient journeys throughout their hospital stay.

Every day is different, but you will:

  • Review prescriptions and provide timely medication supplies to inpatients.
  • Prioritise urgent discharge prescriptions to help patients get home safely and efficiently.
  • Support medicines optimisation by making the best use of patients’ own medicines.
  • Recognise and safely handle controlled drugs brought in by patients.
  • Check patients' own medication, ensuring they are stored, labelled, and used correctly.
  • Use a range of electronic systems confidently to keep records accurate and up to date.

We’re looking for someone who is:

  • Organised, proactive, and able to work well under pressure.
  • Confident using digital systems and completing accurate documentation.
  • An excellent communicator and a supportive team player.
  • Committed to delivering safe, high quality, patient focused care.

Previous experience is not essential in this role. NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Services is essential for this role; candidates without this qualification will be appointed at Band 2 and will progress to Band 3 on completion of the qualification. Previous experience in dispensing is not necessary as full training will be given.

Please note this role will not be eligible for sponsorship as it doesn't meet the minimum salary requirements for a skilled worker visa, therefore you must have appropriate right to work in the UK or your application will not be progressed to the next stage of Recruitment.
