The post holder is a Pharmacy Technician who acts within their professional boundaries, supporting and working alongside a team of pharmacists and technicians in General Practice. The post holder will work as part of a multi‑disciplinary team in a patient‑facing role.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead improvements to maximise safe, cost‑effective best practice in prescribing to improve patient care quality.
- Switch medications to agreed and approved protocols, improve repeat prescribing processes in general practices, promote repeat dispensing and online ordering, and minimise clinical risk.
- Support general practice staff with prescription and medication queries; carry out medicines switches in GP practices in line with agreed protocols.
- Review and amend patient records and inform patients accordingly.
- Promote electronic repeat dispensing and online ordering, and carry out housekeeping in patient records, e.g., dose optimisation and medicine synchronisation.
- Act as the first point of call to answer and deal with any medicines‑related queries from administration, reception and dispensary staff.
